Dogin turned to Jandri as if he where thinking, then after confirming his thoughts he spoke. "It has nothing to do with trust... Its about logic. Should it be revealed that he is an agent of Balthazan then well kill him. Should the journey be to much for him then he can leave, but should he be true to his word who am I to reject an able sword from such a quest? Even better he is a human... Should he leave or feel like telly someone around here they will be less inclined to believe him. Our quest will take time and the nations of the world need not worry about such... At least not yet."
Joe walked in to offer his advice. "Aye I say we let'em join. Theres nothing that Dogin and myself cant handle. Especially when it comes to traveling the roads and encountering its unexpected problems."

Jandri gritted her teeth as she pulled her lute into her lap and began to tune it's strings. White turned back to the rest of the group. "We should get going... we still have a long way to go." she said as she pulled her pack toward her and began packing away the few things she had taken out of it. Terrag's presence made her nervous, but she wasn't sure why.

Dogin nodded his head to Jandri's suggestion. "Aye we should put in a few more miles before calling it a night, the next town should be a two day walk from here."
Joe shrugged his massive shoulders "If you insist Dogin." Joe hefted his massive pack onto his back rattling everything inside, after tightening up the straps Joe gave a nod that he was ready. Dogin picked his pack up onto his pack and was ready to begin his journey. Within both there packs was a cache of supplies, clothing for the most extreme temperatures (very specialized clothing) and a series of other things one might find useful along such a journey.
Dogin gave a wave for Terrag to join them
With the sun high in the sky and the evening wind at there back the band began to walk again.

As they walked, White adjusted her stride so that she eased up to Dogin's side. She leaned in close and whispered in his ear. "Dogin... Terrag isn't... normal. I don't think he's completely human... at least not anymore." She turned her head slightly and her ear turned straight on to the human a few paces behind.

(Terrag feel free to back post)
Dogin glanced at the late fall sky, as a slight breeze carried the sent of the mountain pines.
"Sorry to mention this White, but neither am I... Ive died and returned to the land of the living. Within my mind resides the five White Wolves of the past" Dogin looked over to Joe who was a few paces ahead of them. "From what Ive heard of Joes ordeal he somehow was able to find a forge that no normal mortal was ever able to reach. From that forge he obtained a mystical artifact for a hand... Thats not normal."
Dogin nodded his head as he blatantly continued "And especially your situation from what I can tell you... uhhh... Are a powerful seeress, thats very rare in this day and age. I don't think theres anything to worry about from the traveler, at least not now. Who knows he may be of use to us along the way."

Twilight was fast approaching, Terrag's favorite time. The trees were most alive during this time, and if you looked close enough you could see the sprites dancing from leaf to leaf. One of the sprites jumped from a leaf onto Terrag's shoulder, dancing playfully, is a childish voices it said, "I remember you Terrag, O great big funny man we played with so long ago. Do you remember me?" "why yes, how could I forget little Inno. I you recall correct it was not all that long ago that uses played together." "yes, but to us, it be forever, and ever, and ever. You one of the few who play with uses". said Inno, "We tell great story's of hide and peek. You be known far and wide as honorary sprite, For only a sprite can keep up with the games we would play, HEHE. Where you going Terrag? huh huh. "Well I am not really sure, but I would seem that fate has brought together this group, and I am not one to mess with fate." "Fate smate", said Inno, "I come with you, See what this "fate" has to offer, maybe you get big adventure, we have lots of fun fun fun!" "well my little friend, I do not know about a big adventure, but I do not think you should come along, It might be dangerous." Inno stuck out her chest," ME no scared, ME mighty sprite, Me help Terrag, ME go, You need me.", and with that Inno sat right down on Terrag shoulder and barked, "Keep on moving." "Well terrag thought to himself, this has been a very intersting day. I might as well ask if the others would care is Inno would tag along," terrag thought to himself. " well It would seem that I have acquired a new friend, and she wants to tag along, do you mind? Tis only a little sprite". Terrag asked the group.

(I cant post right now cause im in class... But I couldnt help but ask... Terrag can we hear you talking to the sprite? Dogin knows there are spirets, but the rest of Gorgraz think that spirets are myths. So right now to some of the others you might sound a bit crazy. Just for your info... Crap teacher found me, gots to go go.)

(well I was thinking that since it was twilight, which in some myths is when the spirits are most active, that every one could see them or that it is when a sprite or spirit chooses to revile itself. I was thinking you could see and hear the sprite. so hopefully I do not sound to crazy)

(Well... though I would hold truth to the time of twilight. I have to say that long ago the four worlds drifted apart. Though spirits still walk among us we cannot see them, that is normal people cant see them. Dogin can probably see it, you can, and I think maybe Calana could... O I'm sorry White could...ANYWAY I'm just going to start walking)
Dogin could faintly see the spirit that sat upon Terrags shoulder with a nod Dogin began walking. The sun began to grow low in the sky and the wind only whispered of the cold the night would bring. The day was late and they still had about another days walk until the next city.
Joe caught up to Dogin "Did he say he just got a new friend that was joining him? Dogin are you sure about this guy, cause I don't trust him." Dogin turned to his old friend who's mistrust was probably well placed. "Joe my friend your becoming too world weary in your age! Why that man is no stranger than you or myself, why if memory serves we had to travel with people much stranger... Remember the traveling circus?"
Joe sighed "I suppose your right Dogin, maybe I'm a bit to jumpy today... Its just that the stakes of this journey are so high." Dogin nodded his head. "You have a right to worry my friend but this journeys stakes are no higher than that of many of our other quests eh? The infiltration of Morags Cape, the quest for the stone of Arath, need I go on?" Joe rolled his eyes, clearly he would not best Dogin on this argument... least not today...

As Terrag said something about a new friend joining him, White turned around. She couldn't see the image anymore. Her ears still found the outline of his figure, but she couldn't make out any new forms. She raised an eyebrow as she faced forward again, but the newcomer's strange behavior quickly faded from her mind. White began to hum a tune. She wasn't sure where the tune came from, but she hummed it just the same.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Calana sat cross legged on the ground. Kaltana sat in front of her, facing her, a few feet away. Calana's face was contorted with concentration. "Somethings different... I can't break the barrier. It's stronger now." Kaltana looked concerned, "How so?" Calana opened her eyes, "I think Sister might have something to do with this. She can't affect my mind anymore, but the barrier is magic." Kaltana nodded, "That makes sense." Sister materialized beside them, sitting the same position. "You're clever in the ways of magic, considering you have little training in it's application." she said slyly. Kaltana's hand shot to her sword, but Calana didn't move. "I take it I'm correct then?" Sister nodded. "Why are you trapping us here?" Calana asked. "If I don't have control, no one gets control." Calana glared at her, "Then the river meets the dam." Sister only nodded.
The tranquility of the twilight was soon broken by the sounds of battle, and oddly enough, singing. If the traveling companions where to track the source of this sound they would soon discover that it came from a wide basin tucked into the trees. In the center a rather one sided battle was being waged. Around fifty orcs and their Elven overseers where charging a small cluster of armored humans, no more that fifteen. Each human was armored differently, light leather armor, chainmail, scalemail and plate. Their weapons where just as varied, hammers, swords, axes and spears. Arranged in a circle the humans sung heartily. Songs of the Pantheon and their love and holiness. Orcs fell in droves as they bet a solid wall of death. I was clear that these were not human soldiers but the vaunted Paladins of Kalor. One fellow stood out, carrying a massive hand a half sword and a great rectangular stone and wooden shield. His shield hand held an Orc by the neck in one hand and his sword was impaling not one but two enemies, and Orc and a Elf, as he sung heartily of the great Kimber and her Might. The forces of Darkness were dwindling.
White's ear twitched. She stopped, standing at attention with her staff planted at her side. Listening intently, she began to turn her head. "Do any of you hear that?" she asked, staring off into the darkening forest with sightless eyes. Jandri stopped and listened. "Sounds like a battle." she said, worried that White would want to investigate.
(sure I guess I can role with a random party of armed orcs chasing paladins in the middle of Zargon...)
"O I hear it Cal...." Dogin frowned a bit and shook his head as he quickly fixed his blunder "White, we must investigate." Joe gave a swift nod. It was there duty as agents and as citizens of Zargon to safeguard the tranquility of Zargon.
Both Joe and Dogin sprinted up the road until the battle came into sight. Joe was very puzzled at the sight "Orcs fighting humans in Zargon?" Dogin corrected his friend "Not just humans Joe... Paladins, this battle was over before it started." Joe looked to his oldest friend "So then..." He needn't finish his sentence for Dogin was already dashing into the fray whether he was needed or not, without a bow at his side Dogin was forced to battle with his recently acquired enchanted blade. Joe was charging after his friend determined not to be shown up, using the power of the GodHand Joe created a finally adorned broad axe from a tail he read as a boy.
With the added support of the Zargonians the remaining orcs felt, headed back to their new havens in Kalor. Most of the Paladins stopped sing but a few carried on. They began to search the dead, looting mostly from the dead Elves, swords, armor, food and the like. They also began moving all the bodies to the middle of the clearing. The Paladin with the massive sword and shield approached Dogin and Joe, helm in hand, revealing a rather average face with long brown hair plastered to the sides. The intricate silver weave in his armor had been glowing but by the time he reach Dogin and Joe it had faded, bowing he said. "I apologize for waging a battle in Zargonian lands, but we were forced to lead them away from Zhan's Band, he didn't have enough men to cover all the women and children. We had no choice but to lead them here." He pushed a damp lock of hair from out of his face. "They did not defile any of your land. The Elves may be evil but they still respect the land."
White and Jandri approached cautiously after the Zargonians. They hung back enough to stay out of the fight and only came closer after the last of the orcs and elves were dead and gone. White had pulled her bandage back over her eyes, but if she hadn't she would have probably seen hundreds of spirits wandering about the field in a daze. They stopped behind Dogin and Joe, but they didn't speak. Jandri looked around nervously as the humans went about their duties and White's ears twitched at every sound.
Dogin cleaned the blood from his blade and Joes axe vanished from sight. Dogin looked up at the approaching human as he explained his presence. "Think nothing of it... This Zan fellow is he seeking refuge in Zargon or lands beyond?" Joe came up beside Dogin his figure casting a lengthy shadow due to the setting sun. "Dogin where have your manners gone?" Dogin rolled his eyes at Joe "I'm sorry, my name is Dogin Hood an agent of Zargon, the towering mountain of fur beside me is my lifelong friend Joe Hardfist." Dogin turned to face White and Jandri "And these two would be White... eh... Hood and Jandri. Now pardon me if I come off as rude, but may I have your name?"
"Dalan, Dalan Tomeweaver. And no, the Roving bands will stick to old Kalor and the Unclaimed Lands. If they cross into your lands it is because they must. We know how you Zargonians are with maintaining the Balance, and a bunch of humans and Paladins living in your lands would surely disrupt that." Many of the bodies had been collected and where set afire. The rest were just tossed onto the flames. The stink of burning orc flesh assaulted the senses of the living.
Terrag came out of the shadows Life, and death in hand, dripping with orc blood. "None of the orcs got away, I am sorry to have shed there blood on this fine land. I also apologize to have not been in the fray, but I believed that you all had that part covered." Terrag said while he cleaned the blood from his blades.
Dogins lip slightly curled and his fists tightened at the paladin’s words "We know how you Zargonians are with maintaining the Balance..." Dogins mind was filled with rage "As if these humans understand anything about the balance! The state of the world today is because they and the shades understand nothing of it!"
Joe glanced over at Dogin a look of worry crossing his face. Dogin never got mad, at least not very often and those times never ended very pleasantly.
"Still your ignorant tongue paladin! If you knew even a fraction of what I know about the balance and the world today you would gladly fall to your knees and beg forgiveness, to both the entire land of Zargon and to the people of Cornar who have suffered from your ignorance of the powers that be!"
Joe brought his massive hand down on his friends shoulder. "Easy Dogin... There’s no way they could know the importance of our ways... and remember Dogin, that even people within the highest councils of Zargon don’t know the information you know from your other worldly expedition."
Dogins anger swelled as he silently gazed at the humans remembering the friends that fell because the humans had altered the balance with their blind steadfast devotion. Dogins anger slowly began to ebb away but Dogin was in no mood to talk, so Joe turned to face the man. “What difference would it make to the balance where you lived? You assume to much about the balance with little proof.”
"Well mate, I wouldn't have made them mad if I were you." Terrag said with a slow calm expression. Inno flew onto Terrag's shoulder, "hehe you be in trouble little man, you make the big skreive mad. hehe." she giggles while tapping the kalorian on the nose, and flying back to Tarrag.
Dalan chuckled. "As to where we live, you fail to understand how we as humans function, but that is neither here nor now, and ignorant, I am not. I understand the concept of your "Balance" and we reject it. We simply have differing theological views of the world. We want to see a world where evil doesn't exist. You see the only way for good to exist is for its counterpart, evil to exist. However, I am not here to argue the finer points of religion with you Zargonian..." He paused, a warm glean in his eyes a stark contrast to the tension that filled the air. "I'm curious, and I would understand why you would not answer me. As it is none of my business, but I sense this is not a simple band of friends traveling the beautiful Zargonian countryside. For starters you are all to well armed, and second...I can't quite put my finger on it, I sense power? Energy? Something....something powerful." He grinned again, but I am just a simple Historian and Paladin, not a mage used to dealing with such things!"
A deeply rooted feeling of anger began to surge up from the depths of Joe's fun loving personality, and as the paladin talked the feeling surged ever more powerful. It took most if not all of Joe's willpower to not send the paladin sprawling to the ground with a monstrous punch.
Dogin had thought that the man couldn't have made him any more angery... He had been very wrong...
Hes face flushing red with anger Dogin vented his due frustration "You know what? Your right Dalan... Your not ignorant, your unbelievably stupid! Its not a matter of theology, but instead reality and you cannot reject reality you foolish man! We do not believe in the balance nor do we need any semblance of faith to guide us! We protect the balance for it must be protected from ignorant races such as yours and the shades! The balance is not a religion and anyone who believes such is wrong. I could stand here and talk truths, facts, and reality's of the balance for years but I doubt any of it would penetrate that thick cloud of ego that stains your entire people!"
Dogins muscles where tense with rage at the ignorance that faced him "As for what were doing... Proving you wrong by saving the balance and as a direct consequence saving this world and your ignorant people!"
With his anger vented Dogin turned and walked away determined to put a few more miles on the road before bedding down for the night. The surface of Joes fun loving nature had been rippled with the same anger that had griped Dogin, so without a word to Dalan he too walked off following Dogin.
((Wow and people thing I am not excepting of others...And so you know I had no intention of starting a fight. I'm trying to join this mission, quest...thing))
Dalan's calm demeanor shattered. "DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM ME!" He shouted his voice carrying all the authority of a champion of a god. "WHAT HAS THE BALANCE GOTTEN MY PEOPLE! DEATH! KALOR HAS BEEN INVADED MORE TIMES IN HISTORY AS THE PENDULUM SWINGS BACK AND FORTH. PERHAPS YOU BLAME OUR BLIND FAITH IN OUR GODS, BUT WE BLAME THE BALANCE. LOOK AT US KNOW! WE HAVE NO COUNTRY NO NATION NO HOME. BECAUSE OF YOUR BALANCE. THIS BALANCE, ORDAINED BY THE HIGHGOD, OH YES WE KNOW OF THE HIGHGOD, HAS FAILED. JUST BECAUSE WE SEEK TO ENCOMPASS THE WORLD IN LIGHT, YOU DEEM US IGNORANT AND STUPID?!" He slumped visibly and quieted down his flash of anger over. "I am a student of history, even coming from a historical perspective the Balance has failed time and time again. I do not seek to change you mine, for the followers of Zargon are mighty in there beliefs. I do not know were the pendulum has shifted now, nor do I care. He drew his massive sword." He looked to the heavens. "Are you sure Mighty Father? They do no want me." He said quietly. A paused. He bowed his head. "It shall be as you command." He looked at Joe and at Dogin with determined eyes, He strode up the the departing Zargonians and laid his sword at their feet "This is Sterkersverd, Strong Sword, and by it and by Paladore the White..."He paused hesitantly "...I bind myself to this quest, and if through my sword or even my death I can further the goals of this mission, it shall be done."
"Well, I can say that I have seen the world and all its wonders, but I have never seen a paladin bowing to someone outside the realm of man. This has turned out to be a very interesting day. Well the Gods have played worse tricks on the creatures of this world. I shall be very interested to see how this ends. I can only hope for the best and that the Gods are on our side. Lets see what Dogin and Joe have to say about this," Terrag thought to himself, while making sure every detail of Life was completely clear of the foul beast blood.
Dogin rolled his eyes and shook his head "The balance has failed no one, if anything it is all of us that have failed the balance. It takes a great deal for the balance to be repaired, even with help... The balance hasn't even settled from the first time it was disturbed! I take not your oath, but should you wish to finally right the wrongs of all mortals and finally reset the balance then you may follow." Dogin continued walking despite the fact that the sun was setting, he was determined to get this conflict off his mind and to put more miles on the road before settling down.
Joe said nothing for Dogin was right... And the fact stood that the tasks ahead would require unparalleled determination. Though they seemed to be on different terms for now the paladins would surely be of use before this journey was done.
