The group had been walking for an hour or so, when White adjusted her stride so that she was walking alongside Dogin. "Dogin... I have something to ask you... I... I couldn't help but notice. You keep trying to call me by another name. Who do I remind you of?" She paused for a moment, "Have you met me before?" She pulled the bandage down off of her eyes and looked directly at him. "And I want the truth.
Jandri's muscles tensed. Her hands went to her weapons ready to move if the need arose.

Kaltana looked from Calana's face to Sister's. Calana's face still showed peace and centeredness, but Sister's was starting to show signs of weariness.

Dogin glanced over at White as she spoke, her very existence was but a shadow of Calana. His sworn beloved was trapped within her own body and puppeteered by and impostor wishing to pass on as someone else entirely. This of course was not her fault, indeed this was the work of dark entity's the like of which Dogin had absolutely no power over.
Though the image of Calana strode beside him it was the eyes of White that stared into his own. "You remind me of someone, someone I once knew in a past life... A highly dedicated person sworn to her lover and to her country..." Dogin paused but kept his strides in time wondering if White was satisfied with his answer.

There was an obvious look of disappointment in White's sightless eyes. She faced forward, head hung. "I just want to remember... remember who I was." she whispered to herself as she turned the ring over and over in her fingers, a habit she picked up over the past weeks. She quickly slid the ring back on and wiped her eyes of the tears that were starting to form as she tried to force them back. "What was her name," she asked turning back to Dogin, "this woman you knew?" After she asked, her demeanor changed, the person behind the eyes was different. A look of confusion spread across her face, much like the night at Zoola and Torven's home. And just like before, almost as quickly as the change happened, she changed back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You are weakening Sister. I almost made it that time. I could feel it." Calana said, finally opening her eyes. Sister was sweating and starting to tremble. Sister didn't reply, she simply bared her teeth. "But... why do I keep seeing Dogin when I start to break through?" she thought.
Dalan had left his brethren behind as the reentered Kalor to reek havoc on their enemies. The paladin also exchanged his battlescared plate mail for a sleeveless full length hauberk with chain and linen undergarments, a helm with a visor with cutouts for the eyes, cheekplates and a tall metal crest. There was also a mail aventail riveted to the back of the helm. He was also equipped with with steel vambraces and pauldrons over worked with leather, and a large steel collar and a grey travel cloak. He still has his tome strapped to his side as well as Sterkersverd, and his large shield on his back, as well as a small pack of supplies. He held back from the main group, feeling alienated as the only human, but this served him fine. He simply hummed a simple marching tune and flipped through his tome, skimming the articles.
(Technically terrag is human, or at least was, but no one knows that yet, all you can tell is that he looks human.)
Terrag was close to the rear of the main group, Inno was sitting on his shoulder, "What are they talking about up there? huh huh. tell me, tell me, tell me, Please!" " no my little friend, it is none of our business. If they want us to know they will tell us when the time is right. For now let us just walk and enjoy the growing night."
Dogin glanced at the ring she wore and just as quickly glanced away feeling great pain surge though his heart. Dogin gave a sigh "Her name..." He almost half whispered as he thought to himself "What would her name have been, had things gone different?" Dogin glanced at White then ahead to the shrouded road. "Would any of this have happened to her had things gone different?" Shaking off the feeling of defeat Dogin knew that what had happened could not be undone, but Dogin also knew that the future held many hopes... That is if this quest succeeded. Turning to White he simple told her "Her name was Calana Coldfury Swiftpaw..."
Affter that Dogin realized that they had traveled all they could tonight. Looking around at those that now followed him Dogin knew that the remained of the journey would most certainly be interesting. "Alright everyone, I believe its time to get some rest. I want to be on the road as soon as possible, so set up what you need and only what you can pack up quickly." That being said Joe dropped his collection of packs near a rather large tree and used it to prop himself up, he had found his bed for the night.
Dogin found a spot not far away "Hey Joe toss me some bread would ya?" Joe grunted then unwrapped a small loaf of bread "Taken a quick bite tonight Dogin?" Dogin shrugged "I would rather a quick bite and early sleep."
(Well Ive got to go... if ya wanna work with it you can, and feel free to back post.)
Dalan tossed his pack on the ground by a stump. Setting his shield and sword belt nearby, setting his tome almost reverently on the stump. He tossed his gloves and vambrances on the pack. Sitting on the stump he began the hard parts, he unbuckled his greaves with a little effort then stood. The other companions could see the Paladin visibility prepare himself, he leaned forward and tugged on the scale vest. He grunted as the vest got stuck. He tugged a few more times to no avail. "Well, this certainly is awkward." He said embarrassedly.
Terrag had found a branch of one of the trees surrounding the group's camp, before he saw the sight of the paladin. It took almost everything inside of him to not burst out laughing. After regaining his composer Terrag took out a Violin, from his pack, and begain to play a long slow, song that seemed to fill the whole forest with music. Inno had come out only for a bit, she sat right on Terrag's knee, listing intently to the music, slowly her eyes started to drift away, into a place of perfect peace, as if the song was a lullaby meant only for her. The trees were so beautiful at night, for some strange reason Terrag felt the old song come to his lips, "I am the one who lost my love, For whom no one can replace, There is burning deep inside, a wanting to see your face. Terrag was shocked at himself, It had been ages since he had heard that song sung, let alone sing it himself. for with every word what was left of his heart would brake. It seemed as though time stood still for a moment, As Terrag put the bow back to the stings, and continued his song. The more beautiful the music became the more the suffering and pain stood out in each passing note. For some reason Terrag could not stop himself from finishing the song, The lullaby of lost lovers. Then terrag broke out into the last verse of the song "I know we shall meet again For I am waiting till that day Just to hold you in my arms, Is the dream I wish today."
( the song is sung at a very slow tempo)
Calana's ear twitched at the sound of her name being said by a familiar voice. She opened her eyes and looked around to find nothing but the empty void around her. Nothing had changed. "What is it?" Kaltana asked. "I thought I heard... never mind." Calana replied, closing her eyes and settling back in. A few changes were invading the void, however, but they were barely noticeable. The distant sound of the woods, the gentle sound of the wind. They became more and more prevalent and began to catch the attention of all three.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
White nodded, sensing a great deal of pain accompanying the name. She didn't push the subject, though she wanted nothing more than to do so because the name sounded so familiar. "Calana Coldfury Swiftpaw... where have I heard that?" White thought to herself.
As the others bedded down, White sat near the edge of the clearing, her small pack leaning against her side. She was turning the ring over and over in her hands. "Calana Coldfury Swiftpaw..." she thought... repeating the name to herself. The music of the violin flowed through her, calming her. Without really thinking about it, she started listening intently. As she did so, every detail of the ring became clearly visible in her mind. "Calana Coldfury Swiftpaw... It's so familiar it's like... I've been called that..." she thought as she continued to turn the ring. The song began to fill her heart with sadness, as though she had lost someone she loved dearly. She shook her head, trying to rid herself of the feeling. "Calana Coldfury..." she stopped as something grabbed her attention. An inscription on the inside of the ring, one she had never noticed due to its fine, shallow workmanship. It read "To the only arrow that could ever pierce my heart – Calana Swiftpaw" White’s thoughts began to race, "Calana… Swiftpaw... wait... that can't... but I’ve never noticed… how could this…" A memory flashed through her mind of the ring sitting in a small box. Then another memory, she was dancing in the woods as a light rain fell, but she was dancing with someone. More memory flashed by as White stood up slowly walking toward the others. "I'm... I’m… I’m her…” her gaze rose from the ring to each person in the clearing, stopping on Dogin. Her unseeing eyes started to fill with tears. “I’m Calana… aren’t I?”
White suddenly convulsed, her eyes rolled up into her head and she crumpled to the ground. Behind her stood Jandri. Her lute was on her back and anger was blazing in her eyes. “I warned you about going too far!” She stepped over White’s limp body and continued, “She’s going with me now, where I will watch over her until the time is right.”

Dogin had finished his small meal knowing that many more like it lay on the road ahead. Terrags song filtered through his ear and pierced his unsteady heart, Dogin curled up as if ready for sleep but sleep did not come. Instead Dogin turned his head so that he could see White... Calana centered in his vision.
Something within her started to change though, as Dogin noticed tears begin to run down her face. She seemed to be muttering something, suddenly she stood up and turned to everyone in the camp. Though her eyes held no light of there own they seemed to pierce every soul they came uppon... As those piercing eyes gazed at Dogin he knew what had happened, his thoughts where confirmed as she stated the name he had longed to call her.
This relevant heart moving moment was cut drastically short though as Calana crumpled to the ground revealing a very angery Jandri.
The depression and hopelessness Dogin had felt over the second loss of Calana seemed as if it would last forever, but now all that remained was a deep anger centered on the one person that still thought it wise to leave Calana within the confine of darkness and bliss.
The gentle breeze within the camp changed bearing with it a sense of malice and rage. Dogin rose up a stern look upon his face that reveled very little of the rage within "Theres no way I'm letting you take her away from me. I will not lose her a third time! Nay never again! To hell with the consequences you hear me?" Dogin kicked up his sheath ready to draw his sword at a moments notice.

Jandri shook her head, "I warned you, Agent, I warned you how far I am willing to go to complete my mission. You'll have to kill me to stop me." She reached back to her loot and grabbed the two rods that protruded from the bottom. With a quick twist, they came free and with a metallic click, the heads of her battle picks snapped into place, sharp point out.
Calana felt the feeling of weightlessness then was suddenly thrown to the ground. The sudden volume of sound was overwhelming at first. She shook her head trying to make sense of what just happened. Before her she saw Sister. She had Dogin cornered. "No!" she shouted as she burst into a cloud of mist that flowed in-between the two of them. Calana reformed in a ready stance between them, Silverstorm drawn. "I don't care... I don't care that this is all in my mind. You won't hurt him again, Sister! You've lost, I've won so stop trying to break me." Sister's face seemed different somehow and it was contorted into a look of confusion. "Milady," she said, "Do you know who you are?" Calana barred her teeth. "Of course I do!" she barked "I am Seeress Calana Coldfury Swiftpaw." Sister lowered her weapons and bowed low saying, "Seeress." But she wasn't Sister. As the adrenaline began to subside, Calana was plunged into darkness. It was frightening at first, but she began to realize that she hadn't been using her eyes, she had been using her ears. She focused and the images returned. "You're not Sister... your name is... is Jandri. I don't know how I remember that..." She turned and saw the armor clad human, "And you... you're Dalan." She turned more to see the human in the tree, "Your name is Terrag..." Then she found herself looking at Joe. "Joe? What are you..." She found she couldn't finish the sentence. The scent... the sound. The way he stood. Every bit of her told her it wasn't true, that it couldn't be but she didn't care. Her muscles began to tense and relax as though she were about to move, but she couldn't do it... she was frozen. "D... Dogin?" she asked, her voice shaking.

The poor paladin was a little irked that no one was helping him with his armor as he attempted to wiggle his way out muttering curses in Old Kalorian. He was almost out when he felt the power auras around him began to pulsate erratically. He start to call out and ask what was transpiring outside of his steel armor prison. He heard Dogin cry out and the unmistakable noise of weapons being readied. With a battlecry worthy of Paladin he threw off his armor in one swift motion and his hands blazed forming into a sort of holy light blade., and came face to face with the confusing scene before him. The unfortunate paladin had been with the group a few scant hours and was horribly confused. However he didn't let it show as his blazing sword dimmed into oblivion, he straightened from his combat pose and stood at a regal parade rest, hands clasp behind his back, his intelligent absorbing the scene that was unfolding. A slim smile spread across Joes face from his resting place at the base of the tree. "Tonights entertainment has arrived!" He thought to himself silently, but in all honesty he was happy for both Calana and Dogin.
The wind that had once blew through the camp instantly stopped and in its wake an awkward silence followed. Dogin smiled knowing that he had one this battle. "Aye Calana, its me... Welcome back."

Calana smiled. She was so filled with happiness she began to laugh. She began taking slow steps toward him, her sword hanging loosely in her hand at her side. "I... I can't believe it, it's really y..." She froze again, the happiness faded from her face and eyes. "It can't be you... you're dead. I was there. You died in my arms!" In a flash she brought up the sword, pointing it's tip at him, her ears twitching back and forth, listening to every sound. "I was there when they cremated you... I haven't escaped... this is an illusion. I'm still trapped." she said through clenched teeth. "Sister!" she shouted into the dark woods around them, "I fell for it once but it won't work again. Show yourself!" Jandri stepped forward, "Milady, you are..." She barely brought up a battle pick in time to block Silverstorm. "Stay away." Calana said, her eyes burning with rage. She turned back to the woods, "You have lost, Sister! Let me go!"

A look of confusion spread across Dogins face. Dogin glanced to Joe who just shrugged and twirled his finger in a circle near his temple. Frowning at that Dogin turned back to Calana "I did indeed die, but now I'm back with a new body. Calana we have a very important quest... I don't think I can.... I cant do it without you." Dogin was at a loss for words... he always had been when it came to Calana.

Dalan stepped in when Calana raised her sword. "Now now, there is no need for things to get violent. I'm sure we can work this out peaceably and figure out just what exactly is going on here." He looked at Dogin and then Calana. "Right?"

Calana's eyes locked onto Dalan, and though her eyes never focused, it was easy to see she was glaring. "Violence is all Sister knows." Her ears continued to swivel and pivot at even the slightest of sounds. After a moment of silence, a look of realization spread across her face. "I'm seeing with my ears... I didn't have to do that before... I could see... But that means I am free, I am back, but you," she said, turning and pointing at Dogin, "were dead. People don't just come back to life." Kaltana's voice flowed through Calana's mind, It's true, Calana, you are free. The things you see now are real. Calana shook herslef. She jumped as Jandri placed a hand on her shoulder and whispered in her ear. "Calana, I have no idea what you've been through. There's no way for me or anyone else her to know. But you are here now, among friends." Jandri turned Calana so that she faced Dogin again. "He has been patient waiting for your return. Why don't you go to him?" Calana's eyes were beginning to tear up, "Because I'm afraid it isn't real." Jandri smiled, "Life is too short to fear what may not be. Go to him."
Calana took a few timid steps forward, her head slightly bowed, her hands clasped tightly in front of her. Then she dashed forward, wrapping her arms around Dogin's neck, the whole time expecting the world to melt away and be replaced with that evil laughter. But it never happened. After a moment of bated breath and embrace, milliseconds feeling like hours, Calana began to sob into Dogin's shoulder, the only words she was able to utter were, "It really is you..."

Terrag hadn't moved from his perch on the tree, over the years he had found it in his best interest to stay far away from a woman that was angry, Fabador has no fury like a woman's scorn.It was so beautiful to see the two Lovers in each others arms. A embrace like that is not broken easily. Enno Had stared on in amusement, and bewilderment. "Why is she crying? huh huh? Shouldn't she be happy, why are they not they dancing, we dance we we are happy, shouldn't they be happy. huh huh." "well my little friend, though they have found each other, the wounds that were created when they were separated run deep. the flesh that was torn is still raw, the memory of the event still fresh in there mind. They have been through death and back for each other, and would go though it again. you can see the love on there tears, and the strength of the embrace. If Dogan ever lost her again he would search for all of eternity for her, but he would blame himself ever instant that she was gone, he would feel the shame of not finding her, not being able to save her, " Terrag had let a single tear roll down his cheek remembering what had happened all those years ago. with her...... Terrag came back to his surroundings wiping the tear from his eye, he went back to plucking his violin tuning it till it was just right, every cord played to the exact tone.

The tree that Terrag had been sitting in began to tremble and shake as a loud voice filled the encampment. "Last time I checked, it was polite to ask before sitting upon ones shoulder." Two eye's of Green glowing water opened half way up the tree's trunk. The tree turned and faced the thing on his shoulder and said. "If you dont mind getting off me." The tree then turned to the rest of the encampment and saw the bazaar mix of races amongst them, as he wondered why such a band was drawn together. Then spying their weapons, he realized that these were not just ordinary travelers. And hoping They were of some intelegence not just to begin attacking a treeling who just so happend to be woken up by some rather rude individuals. <hinting to the "thing" on his shoulder.

Dogin glanced over at yet another new arrival while embracing Calana for the first time in long while. The new arrival did not surprise Dogin in fact Dogin probably wouldn't be surprised had the world ended right then and there. Ah but Dogins world had not ended, but instead had began anew. "Welcome back Calana."
Joe looked around at the band of characters that where to be the ones to save the world. Joe glanced at the GodHand that was his new right hand and then he glanced back around at the many people that had converged here. All of them had there own backgrounds, there own problems, and there own lives, but all stood to lose just as much as the other if they failed in there mission. "Well Ive had about all the excitement I can stand for today, Dogin I leave the rest to you. I'm getting some shuteye while I still can."
Dogin raised an eye at his friend and gave a slight nod. It was going to be a long trip, they would all need there sleep.

"Well I have heard of you, Sprigg of the willow, though last time I laid eyes on you, you were but a young monk." Said Terrag without moving. Inno had sprung from Terrag's knee, " Hey. Hey I have heard of you, you are thing of legend. You are told to every sprite child, For it Has been told that when you awaken it will be at a time of great peril, and that mother Gaia will be by your side. Are you here to help us? huh huh huh. And where is she I want to see mother."

Calana jumped and looked up at the sudden new voice, bringing her back to her surroundings, but she didn't let go of Dogin. She dried her eyes with the back of her hand, trying to regain her composure in front of the semi-strangers around her. Then, she slowly and gently broke the embrace. Using her ears, she was able to lock her gaze with his or at least she hoped she had. The fire had returned to her eyes, but their brilliant blue color was still faded. "It's good to finally be back." she said with a smile, before moving to stand beside Dogin, looping her arm around his. Her gaze lifted upward as her mind began to paint a picture of the treeling before her.
Jandri crossed her arms and smiled at the joy in her niece's heart. "My mission is comp..." she began, but stopped as one of the trees spoke and began to move. But upon realizing that there was no threat, she used the distraction to fade into the shadows of the forest. When she was well away from camp, she reached into a pouch on her belt and removed a small egg like object. It had a faint blue glow about it, a vibrated ever so slightly with magical energy. She closed her hand around it, held it close to her lips, and whispered a message. Then she tossed it high into the air. The egg burst with a small pop, revealing a bird, made of pure energy that glowed bright blue. It fluttered about in the air above Jandri for a moment, then zoomed off through the forest, vanishing into the distance.

The tree moved and Dalan roared again this time sweeping his sword out of his sheath. He shrugged sheepishly, "I'm a might jumpy. I am after all a Historian by trade..." He too surveyed the group now arrayed in the clear. "My, my aren't we an eclectic group, I reckon nearly all the nations are represented, with a few exceptions, probably for the best that some damned Fabianite Elf didn't join our little band." He muttered to himself as he settled himself against a stump and set his huge tome in his lap.
