Turning to Inno "Ah yes i see that we have a sprite among us. Such pleasant creatures to be around, so care free and fun loving. And to answer your question little one, I am here to help..." turning to the rest of the group "...If my help is welcome" coughing lightly Sprigg looked back over to Inno "you and your companion there may want to leave your perch" before Terrag and Inno had anytime to move, Sprigg began shrinking, the great branches of the mighty tree became a pair of thin arms and the roots became a set of wooden legs. Standing where the tree had once been was a 4'8" treeling who was kneeling before everyone. "I would be honored if I could join your party." All was quiet while Sprigg awaited his final judgment.

Dalan looked up from his tome, "Not my place to pass judgement, Treeling. However, I am a firm proponent of strength in number." Then the eccentric Paladin looked back to his Tome, a finger tracing the lines until he found his place and with a "Ah, yes..." he began to read again.

Terrag had fell from the treeling's branches when the transformation had occurred. Dusting himself off Terrag stood and said, "I am not the leader here, I would say it would be OK, but The final word on the matter is not up to me."

Calana's mind was starting to grasp the situation as her memories and White's began to merge. She looked around at all those gathered in the clearing. Then the treeling asked to join them. Her gaze fell upon him, with a small smile. "If you are willing to face death, or worse, then feel free to join us." She then looked at the others. "I do not know if all of you have been told, I feel it is only fair that you know what you're getting into. Balthazan is not dead. He is still alive and is trying to return to this world. He might already be back. We are going to stop him."

Sprigg looked up at Calana "I know nothing of this Balthazan, but as you have been so very kind as to allow me to join you." Sprigg gazed at everyone around him. "I shall aid as best I can." With that, Sprigg got up and strolled back to where he was previously standing as a tree and began to grow into the form he had so recently taken on. "If someone wouldn't mind waking me up when the time is set for us to move out, it would be most appreciated." The two great pools of green water grew dimmer and dimmer as the great tree fell back into a deep sleep. . . . .

(I believe inspiration is a living thing, much like one would view the ocean as a living thing. It rises and falls pulling us along the way...)
Joe looked around and shrugged before turning over for a night of sleep. Dogin looked around at the band of characters that had gathered around... It certainly wasn't like many of his other adventures, but Dogin couldn't help but feel a since of familiarity. Under the light of stars and moon Dogin gazed at the shrouded road that lay ahead. Dogin and Joe had traveled many of the paths that criss crossed over Gorgraz for several reasons if not but the feeling of the road beneath there feet and miles to go.
"We still have about two days before the Zargonian border... Rest up and pray nothing else happens till dawn, I don't know if my heart can take many more surprises this late in the day."

The forest around them had already settled for the night. It seemed that not even the night roaming creatures were stirring. The night went on without incident, and it didn't seem very long before the first light of morning could be seen on the horizon.

Dogin woke early and despite the night of surprises he felt lively and eager to feel the miles go by beneath his feet. Giving a stretch he slowly uncurled and stood up felling the soft eastern wind that told of fair weather. With the morning dew clinging to his fur and the earth still soft from the nights touch Dogin walked a little ways from the camp to the cresting point on a nearby hill. The south eastern country side of Zargon stretched out before him from the soft rolling hills to the gentle forests that hugged the land stretching all the way up the mountains that dominated the surrounding country side.
Dogin could hear the wind call him onward to his destiny, but what truly lay ahead Dogin couldn't fathom... None the less Dogin yearned to be on the road again there he felt truly at home.
Within the confines of Dogins mind those he had been forced to bring with him from the spirit world spoke and held council within his mind. They spoke of the nothing but how urgent his quest was and about how foolish he was being for wasting time. Dogin did as he had done since returning to the mortal realm and shut them out. Should he have need of there power he would ask for it, should he have need of there advice he would ask it. Dogin knew all to well the burden that had been laid upon him and those on this adventure he also knew the consequences should they fail. But there was no need to listen to the pessimistic rantings of ancient warriors who's time had longs since past.
Dogin was alive, and for the moment everything was fine. Despite what lay ahead he was back and happy for it.

Calana woke suddenly. She wasn't sure why at first, but then she realized that it was the sound of birds chirping. She could only guess that the sun was coming up. With a groggy moan, she sat up, her bandage sat lopsided across her face. As her hand touched the bandage to straighten it, she began to realize she wasn't where she had been for the past months, she was in the real world. The events of the previous night came rushing back in a disorienting wave. After she shook the overwhelming feeling, she reached for her pack. She quickly packed up her things and stood, the small pack on her back, sword on her belt, and staff in her hand.
Jandri blinked the sleep out of her eyes. She was in a tree a short way away from the clearing where the others had slept. After she sent her message, she had found the tree and gone to sleep. The first real sleep she had had in a while. From her perch she watched the others begin waking up.

((I know there are already a lot of things to overcome, but I also thought, "Ah, what the heck, what's one more?"))
Far off in the distance, four short figures sat, hunched over, with their backs to the wind. One of them inspected his hand as the meat and skin began to reappear over the bones. He then looked up at the flesh covered faces of his comrades.
"I don't see why we're waiting 'ere." Blade said as he pulled a knife from his belt and began cleaning the dirt out from under his fingernails. "Yeah, I don't trust yer source, Rider." Trigger pitched in. The only response they got was a sidelong glance from Rider, who then turned his gaze back to the four rams that were grazing not far away. There was no sound but the wind, and the soft thump of hooves on the hard ground. Blade and Trigger continued to stare at their leader, waiting. He finally responded in a quiet yet commanding tone, "We're gonna wait here." Mad-Eye sat across from his brother. He simply chuckled at the reply.
The four of them had been sitting on the hillside for three days and nights, waiting for their current contract to arrive. From what little Rider could get out of Death, someone had slipped through his fingers during the Demon Wars. This someone had died, but disappeared before Death came to him. The Four Wardens had been sent to find the lost soul and return it to Death's clutches. Rider pulled the contract out of his jacket and unrolled it. Written in a flowing script in red ink were the words, "Capture and return, in whatever form it appears, the soul of Dogin Hood, died in the Mortal war against the Demon Army of Balthazan." Rider shook his head as he rolled up the contract. Every time he held one of the damned documents, he remembered the one he and his friends had signed all those years ago.
Mad-Eye squinted his visible eye, looking past his brother. "What is it, Mad-Eye?" Rider asked, turning to look. Mad-Eye pulled his eye patch out of the way, revealing his freakish magic eye. After a moment, he looked back at his brother and nodded. Rider gave a heavy sigh, "Well, boys, let's go to work."

Dalan woke with a grin that you could almost here. He stretched and raised his hands into the air and in a strong if slightly off-tune voice:
O LORDs, our Lords, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: all sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; the fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O LORDs our Lords, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
The lasts note was way off key but the Paladin clearly didn't care. "Ah the Gods do make a fine work!" He exclaimed before falling to his knees and muttered a quick prayer, those closest to him would only have caught snippets like "Great Father," "Bring Strength" and so one and so forth. "Where are we off to today!" He asked happily.

Joe rolled over and sat up grumbling all the way, apparently the off keyed joyfull singing of the paladin had awoken the sleeping giant. Joe slowly stood and gave a massive stretch followed by an equally massive yawn.
His back was sore, his muscles stiff, and he had the urge to walk... Joe was indeed back on the road again. Joe looked around at the camp then to the sky above which told of fine weather to come. Then Joes thoughts quickly turned to food which he quieted with a slice of bread followed by cheese. Right now there was no need to ration food, in a few days they would be able to stock up on supplies at the last town before the boarder.
Joe gave a few more stretches as he worked the food down, he was happy to be on the road again.

Terrag had spent most of the night in a nearby tree watching the moon, but morning had come and it was time to be off. Inno was still sound sleep in one of Terrag's coat pockets. Typical of a sprite Terrag thought to himself, chuckling. Climbing down from the tree Terrag got his pack, making sure everything was in order, started on the interesting task of waking up the treeling. After careful consideration Terrag Decided to Just knock, Three times on the trunk of the treeling.

The tree began to shake and stir as though stretching as the two green pools of water opened halfway up the trunk. "A pleasant nap that was, yes a pleasant nap." The eyes of the large tree turned to a few of its branches, peering at a dozen birds on each limb. "I see that i have attracted the callers of morning." With that Sprigg vigorously shook all his branches at once, scattering all the bird this way and that. laughing out loud. "aaahhh yes that never gets old." Sprigg began shrinking into his "semi-human" form as he turned to Terrag. "I do thank you for the morning wake up call, but please try to remember that i am a tree not a door, so a simple touch will do. Ether way I'm awake, and now its time for breakfast." Sprigg reached into his small satchel of herbs and spices, and pulled out a seed. At arms length he dropped the seed to the ground and took a lengthy step back. On contact with the ground, the see began to burrow itself deeper and deeper into the ground until finally a lief poked out of the hole that the small seed had left behind. Then very rapidly it began to grow into a decent sized sapling of an apple tree. Sprigg reached up and plucked an apple and began to happily consume it. With a mouthful of apple he turned to everyone else. "Come my new companions, help yourselves." With that Sprigg sat down and continued to eat his apple with delight as he waited for everyone to fully wake up.

The paladin's song was up lifting, if not slightly unpleasing to the ears. Calana walked to the tree and hesitantly took a few apples, wrapping some in cloth and putting them in her pocket before taking a bite of another. She chewed it slowly, enjoying the sweet, juicy flavor. But then she stopped, mid-chew. Her ear twitched. She began to chew again, a bit more quickly. "We should get on the road," she said as she swallowed the mouthful. "It's a long road..." she continued, her voice trailing off, a hint of concern in her voice. A feeling had suddenly come over her, but she could figure out what it was.

The four wardens slowly rode along, their mounts moving at a slow walk. They never rushed. Living forever has that affect on people. They were headed for the road. Their plan was to cut their target off and take him. As they rode, each of them were caring for their preferred weapon, all but Rider. Mad-Eye was cleaning his rifle, Blade was sharpening his swords, and Trigger was checking his pistols. They had no clue that the one known as Dogin was not alone, that he was traveling with powerful allies.

Calana's ears began to twitch more frequently. She was glancing about nervously. Jandri noticed the change in her demeanor as she picked a few apples. Calana became more antsy by the moment. When she finished her apple, she kicked out a small hole in the dirt and dropped the core into it, covering it with dirt.
She stood stalk still for a moment, the stated in a commanding tone, "I've got to get moving... I've got to go right now." Calana adjusted her pack and started off down the road. Jandri, startled by the suddenness of Calana's actions, took a moment to react. She quickly gathered up her things and followed her niece down the road.

Dogin had returned from the hill to retrieve his pack and get ready for the journey ahead. Dogin gave a slight nod to Sprigg as he snagged an apple from the tree, while passing Joe Dogin gave a slight nod and kept walking following Calana and Jandri out of the camp.
Joe gave another role of the shoulders and a sigh of relief to be on the road again. Then with his packs upon his back he begin walking onward.

"No breaking of the fast?" Dalan said holding two travel pans. He sighed. "This is not the way to run a quest..." He grumbled as he replaced his utensils and struggled back into his armor and ran to catch back up to the group and then up to Joe. "Master Godhand. Where exactly are we headed, I'm here because a higher order ordained it, still don't know what we are doing...."

Joe glanced down at the paladin thinking of a response. He was often interrupted by the fair sky and open road. "Well we are currently travailing to Revernbar, its a fair sized town and probably the last chance for good food, beds, and supplies. After Revernbar its a straight shot past Blackstone castle to the Black Gates and from then on we will have left the Land of Zargon. Thats when the real adventure begins good paladin... Well perhaps the journey begins, but the true quest has yet to begin."
Joe gave a nod over to Dogin who now walked beside Calana in the lead. "Dogin Hood has seen more and done more throughout these lands than many would even dream. Well I'm not sure of all the details, he tends to bare a heavy load when it comes to friends. What I do know however is that whatever force gave Dogin life it was unable to fully restore him. Though he appears fine now his life force is fading much faster than that of the common man" Joe gave a slight laugh "Though there in lies an advantage, for if theres one thing Dogin Hood has its life force."
Joe realized he had been ranting. "But to answer your question. Now we seek something to sustain Dogins life force, though this may seem selfish I believe that Dogin still has a role to play that we cannot... Anyway for now we seek a treasure held by the mother of all dragons, she dwells within a mountain within the shifting sands of the far east."

"well I have been meaning to get back to see my fair dragon queen, I loved our long talks we use to have, but we have long trip ahead of us. If it is a answer you seek she will have it, of that I am sure. Though you may not like the answer you find." Said Terrag as he pulled his hat lower to cover his eyes from the sun, " I haven't seen her in a long time, a very very long time...."

Sprigg watched as the others began walking away from him, as he finished the last of his apple. Then Sprigg stood up ran, and jumped head on into the apple tree. The tree caught him, reared back and threw him to another tree farther down the road a little ahead of the group. The intercepting tree caught Sprigg and lowered him to the ground. Sprigg waited a moment for the others to catch up, then began walking behind. Quietly staying to himself for the time being.

((Hey Sprigg/Treeling, try to log in when you post. It's ok to guest post once in a while, but try not to make a habit of it. ) The wardens had reached the road ahead of their target as planned. They were in off the road where it was covered with shade trees, sitting in the shadows watching them draw closer. Rider was shaking his head. "There's too many 'o 'em... we need ta wait." Mad-Eye nodded in responce. Trigger looked a bit antsy, "Comon Rider, we can takem! The whole lot. It'll be fun." Rider turned to Trigger, "We're gonna wait." A few moment's went by. The travelers drew closer and Trigger got jumpier. "I'm not waitin.... I'm taken 'em now! I need the action!" Trigger jumped up and sprinted out onto the road. He had only gone a few feet down the lane before Blade landed ontop of him, driving a dagger deep into his comrade's throat. "Rider said wait." he said as he dragged Trigger's body off the road. The whole thing had happened about three hundred feet from the group, but the dark shade the trees cast on the lane would have made it near impossible to see. The three living wardens quickly crept through the underbrush, fourth on in tow, moving nearly scilently. They didn't look back, fearing one of the travelers may have seen them. It didn't take them long to reach the clearing where they left their rams. Blade quickly tossed Trigger's limp body over his saddle then leapt onto his own. Then the four rams sped off away from the road. "Trigger, when you come back, I'm gonna kill you..."

And on the group traveled along the long, twisting road, drawing ever nearer to the last town, beyond which the real journey would begin. They traveled on through the next night, only stopping once every several hours to rest, and by mid afternoon on the second day, the town of Revernbar came into view.
(Sorry about the jump, but no one was doing anything and the next major even is the town, so welcome to Revernbar everyone.)

Calana wasn't sure how long they had been walking, but she was certain that she could hear people in the distance, and could smell all the sounds that come with a town. "We're getting close, aren't we?" she asked to no one inparticular. Just the thought of the food, drink, and beds put a little bounce in her step.
Jandri, however, had no bounce in her step. The long walk had allowed her old age to catch up to her. She still stood up straight and held herself with pride, but her eyes showed the truth, she was getting tired. For the first time in a long time, she was afraid, afraid she wouldn't be able to complete the task before her. She knew the day would come when age would force her into a casual, comfortable life, but she wasn't ready for that yet. There was still so much she wanted to see and to do. So she trudged on, keeping up with the group and looking forward to a nice, warm bed.
