Tam was not far behind, having sprinted after the rest with all of his racial speed. He too tore into the monster but stopped as he realized it wasn't contacting through the matted fur. The monster was never going to die by the sword before it regained its presence of mind and smashed them all to bits. Then Tam noticed the creature's fur smoldering where the paladin's sword had made contact. The wax must be flammable!!!!!!! He sheathed his sword, grabbed a crystal, and shoved the Kalorian out of the way. "This is not your day to die!!!" He created the fire into a large orb on his hand and leaped at the monster fist outstretched, not wanting to risk missing. The fire leaped into the creature's fur on contact.

The Carklin gave a roar as it smashed its good hand full force into the elfs chest sending him flying in the opposite direction, but the damage was done the Carklins fur was aflame. The beast tried to put out the fire on its chest with its good hand but it only spread the fire to its arms, then the beast rolled over and over on the snowy ground but still the flames would not subside soon the great best was nothing more than a smoldering memory.

Terrag walked up to the group," I think we might want to leave this place before death decides to show his face. I would rather not meet him right now. Before I leave I would like to know who my comrades were today, so that maybe someday I can lend a helping hand. I am Terrag and you two are?"

( smoldering memory...yup sounds dead.)
Gulio ignored Terrag, replacing his tome and sword he walked over to where Tam had been thrown. "Gutsy move, elf." He extended a hand. "Impressive even."

(( .... srry.... I specifically checked to see if gaia had posted and I couldn't find it.... I don't know whether it was me or the computer that messed up...)) Tam wasn't paying attention. From both his hand and his ribs came excruciating pain. When the Carklin had hit him it had snapped his sternum and several ribs, one of which had hit his lungs. He could feel life draining out of him by the seconds. "Kalorian....try... to find... my people." He coughed and blood came up. "Tell them....... tell them.... of my demise. Tell.... them that... I failed... them again. And... please....look for... my broth......" With that his strength gave out and everthing faded into blackness.

The angel Azrel appeared in the blackness his four wings fluttered slightly then the blackness faded away revealing the mountain where the elf had been slain. Azrel took no notice of the elf as he just summoned fourth his timepiece it appeared hovering before him. Azrel reached out and taped the hourglass on its top... it was indeed empty, then the angel summoned up his dark tome and scales. Azrels hood shifted side to side as if he was judging the elf for himself, but as for what he thought... that was unreadable. Azrel opened up the large tome and thumbed through the pages searching the pages until he had found the page he was looking for.... it was blank... all of the pages where blank and yet the dark being studied them as if he where reading an unseen text, as he read the scales began to tip first one way then the other never seeming to stay long on either side. The elf had lived long and would take awhile to truly judge...

Tam sat ( or floated.. or whatever) patiently while observing the dark thing pouring over its book. He was strangely peaceful for just having choked to death. He wasn't aware whether he was in a physical form or a spirit or whether he just was. I wonder if I'm about to get to see my brother he thought. "Excuse me um... sir. Do you remember having seen my brother during one of these... what do you call this? He should have been rather like me." He wasn't sure whether he had spoken or transmitted a thought or what.

The angel looked at the elf and waved one bony finger at him. Then went back to gazing over his book when he finished he slammed the book and started to glide over the ground toward the elf, but as he reached out for him a light began shinning from his chest. Azrel reacted by yanking his hand back as if he where to close to a fire and giving out an inhuman screech, then taking out a old piece of paper with many names on it he scrawled the name of the elf into the paper. Azrel reached out for the elfs chest placing his hand flat on the area of where the heart was... withdrawing the hand one could see that it left the impression of a skeletons hand. Then Azrel faded into the background and color returned to the world Tam was alive again but faint a faint word came to his ears "Purpose".

((ooc: its probably better this way Kalor... lets just go with it. Also... after this Tam is going to be unconscious for quite a while and will appear dead unless closely expected. :end ooc))
As the dark being left Tam's eyes were suddenly filled with a vision. He saw a great battle against an unspeakably evil foe. All the races were banded together and fighting for all they were worth. Then the scene switched and he saw destruction of all these races. The dead were everywhere, and the evil reigned. As the vision slowly faded into black he heard a voice... and yet it was more than just a voice, "This is what will happen if you will not serve...."

Terrag ran over to the elf. NO! he couldn't be dead. No not this elf. "damn you death, Damn you! First you take my life away, and now my bother why. Why? MY brother I never knew you." Terrag walked over to the cold body of the elf. Lifting it up ever so gently. Slowly Terrag started to walk into he snow with his tears freezing on his face.

Gulio stepped in front of Terrag, "You will not take his body, Son of Darkness." He said evenly with his sword drawn. "I cannot allow such a Goodly man be taken by such a creature as yourself. You showed that you have at least a shred of honor in your black soul, so that is why I do not kill you now. Give me his body."

"Please, take good care of his body. Make sure he gets to the other world safe. Remember that there is a friend out here in the wilderness if you ever need anything." with that Terrag placed the limp body of the elf in the kalorian's arms, "God's speed."

Gulio nearly spat at Terrag, but restrained himself. Instead just narrowed his eyes, and with a flip of his cape in the wind, began to walk down the slope the elf's slender body resting lightly in Gulio's massive arms.

Had Terrag looked over his shoulder he would have seen Tam's torso.... shift, for lack of a better word. Tam was still very wounded, but his body was livable. He let out a barely audible moan. "uuuhhhhh....... purpose.........." His chest suddenly began to rise and fall deeply as he started breathing normally again.

"By Palador's Beard!" The Gulio exclaimed, setting Tam down. "Can you hear me, Tam?" Gulio pulled a first aid pouch out from under his cloak. He placed his hands on the elf and let Palador's warmth spread from his fingers into the stricken elven warrior.

Tam's memory came back to him...of everything, including the angel. He started to scramble to his feet, getting to a half-sitting position before collapsing back to the ground. He raised his head and looked around. "Where's that thing with the four wings and the book?!? Or did I just dream that?!?" Then Tam struggled into a sitting position as he remembered the hand. He opened the front of his shirt, gasping when a skeletal hand print was uncovered. "What is that?" he whispered.
