Continued from The Two Foreigners. The dwarven steam tanks rolled over the nearly flat plains of plains of Kalor making a bee-line to Outlance with Dogin and Big Joe riding atop Boomer, which was behind Fire Storm, which followed the lead tank Old Faithful. Renald and the Bronze flew above the convoy as it rocketed over the plains. Krag Stonegun, Commander of the Boomer, had opened the top hatch to allow him to talk to Dogin and Joe, which was lucky because suddenly Fire Storm disappeared from his view in the periscope. "HOLD ON, THIS IS GONNA GET BUMPY!" he shouted. The tank began to go down a very steep slope, with Fire Storm far ahead, and Old Faithful even farther. The tanks began to pick up even more speed as they thundered down the hill. At the bottom of the hill, the land sloped back up for a little way and the tanks soon where jumping over the edge of the upper slope and landing on flat plains again. In the distance was Outlance, though the tank commanders could not see it yet.

Entered from The Fallen. Cathina and Tam landed in Outlance. Their feet hit the ground so softly neither barely felt it. Cathina let go of Tam and took a step back from him and said, "There we are. Oh, I don't think I caught your name..."

The steam tanks rolled up to the gate of Outlance and stopped. Commander Swiftaxe poked his head out of the top hatch of Old Faithful. "Hello?!?" he yelled.

Lord Ingano Mobious of Outlance appeared on the wall. "Ah, the Dwarves, and an angel and a Free Elf. How exciting!" The short balding little Lord said clapping. "Come in! Come in!" The old giant gates of Outlance opened revaling the inside. Thousands of Knights and Outriders milled about sharping weapons, repairing armor. The two tiered Fortress towered above everything. As the tanks began to move in, the Defenders stopped what they were doing and began to cheer. On knight began to sing in a shaky Baritone voice, and before long the entire Fortress was singing the Old War Hymn. ((I think I'm gonna make the OWH now... ))

Tam turned to Cathina briefly, "Thank you. It seems I am doubly indebted to you, my name is Tam Al'Thor." He then yelled up to the Lord Ingano, "I'll take a walk for a bit first, thank you. I'll be back in a hour or two." Tam then turned without waiting for a reply from either a trotted away over a sloping hill, where he found a small grove of trees. Passing through these trees, Tam found a large flat plain. A summoners dream. He Quickly sent a message by fire letters. When he got a reply, he intoned the words, "Suivre magicien, a' Outlance." Come mage, to Outlance There was a small pop an elven mage appeared. After a short greating they began to summon the other mages, who each muttered a greeting and summoned one of their brethren untill they were all there, about 100 in all. Then with a brief nod from Tam, they turned towards the field, melded their power, and started chanting. One might have thought it music if hadn't been for the strange tingling sensation. Nothing happened for a moment, but then as Tam watched, a strike force winked into existence. It was followed by another, and another, and another. As the mages chanted, the grand army appeared, teleported from Elvendar. The army of The Erodaen was going to war. Soon the spell would be finished and they would head back to Outlance...

Dogin looked around from atop the tank eagerly watching everything that was going on... but Dogins eagerness was crushed when Big Joe learned the rhythm of the song and started in with his bagpipe...

The three tanks rolled inside the walls of Outlancee and stopped in a out of the way spot. The fires in the furnaces were put out and acces steam was bleeded off. Soon the dwarven tank crews were out of their tanks and streaching their legs. Krag came up through the top hatch and sat on top of his tank next to the passengers. "Well her we are. Outlance. Hope they have a tavern." with this remark he began to roar with laughter and nudging Big Joe in the side.

Big Joe laughed at the question then howled out through his laughter "With all of us here there going to need two or even three!" even Dogin had to laugh at that one "To true my old friend to true. Speaking of which lets see if we can find one."

The flight to Outlance had rejuvenated Cathina. With the aid of her wings, she lept up on top of the wall and looked out in the direction the orcs where supposed to approach from. After standing there on the wall for several minutes, ,she flew down to the field below and landed on a small hill. There she unsheathed her sword and stuck it into the ground so that the cross tree made the sword look like a cross. She then knelt in prayer. She knelt there for hours. She prayed for strength in the coming battle, for her and the people of Kalor and their allies. She knew her prayers were probably falling on deaf ears, but she continued praying in the hope that they weren't.

Many dots appeared on the horizon. The dots gradually grew larger, and more joined them on the ground. THe Doujin army was flying towards Outlance, with their new countrymen not far behind.

...meanwhile in the pasture past the woods...
Tam surveyed the now complete army. As they began to form into formations, one figure detached himself from the crowd and came towards Tam. It was Mat. "Master," said Mat respectfully. "I have brought your battle armor and news from the king."
Tam shook his head, "Mat, I told you a thousand times, don't call me master." He took the bundle of armor from Mat and started to put it on. First came a chainmail shirt, then chainmail chaps. On top of that came a strange plate armor made of black metal. It held off blows like heavy Kalorian armor, but it fit closer to the skin, was much lighter, and was almost what one would call flexible. It was monazite, a metal that was created with magic and forged with even more magic. Tam had had it made for him as a gift from the king in repayment for a favor. It covered his chest, arms, and legs. Then he put on gauntlets backed with the same metal. When he unfolded his tabard, the last piece of clothing, he raised an eyebrow. In addition to his personal crest, a flaming jewel with a sword sticking through it, there was an extra shield on the left shoulder. (two instead of one) But that was the sign of a high captain of The Shadows, not a lower captain... "What’s this?" he asked Mat.
"That’s part of the news from the king," replied Mat as Tam put the tabard on and strapped his weapons on over it. "One of the high captains was recently killed by a vampire. As a result, King Tamathar has promoted you into his position."
"A vampire huh... I met a vampire recently... one I think I met as a living being before... just not sure when," Tam absently rubbed his left wrist, then glanced at Mat and seemed to snap back into the present. "What was the other news?"
"The king and the lords have elected to stay in the forests for some reason only known to them." Mat hesitated for a moment, "...He's appointed you to lead the grand army."
Tam stared at Mat in disbelief. Why him? There others more qualified than him... Oh well, "Well then Mat, let’s get this show on the road..."
The guards’ attention was brought away from the doujin flying in as Tam and Mat strode over the top of the hill, followed by the army. They came in five long files, first the mages, followed by the archers, and finally the infantry who each had a shield and an Erodaen Falchion, a curved blade with a very long handle meant for twirling. It was an impressive sight, two very dangerous men, followed by three hundred fifty thousand elves, men and women, marching in step in five files, in full battle array. The long train stopped simultaneously as their leaders reached the gate with some still out of view behind the hill.
“Lord Mobious!” called Tam. “We are here! The elves of The Erodaen have marched to war!!!”

The Doujin army had morphed back into human form and stopped in front of the main wall of Outlance. Serure walked foward from the five-hundred thousand warriors towards the wall, to see where they wanted the army to set up camp. Seven hundred thousand Kithian troops stood at attention as their leader also urged her wolf foward to catch up with Serure. The elven army topping the hill cast a mighty spectacle. The Kithian troops resisted the urge to look around and watch, and then became content to wait until the elves came into their line of sight.
