In the skies above Gorgraz, there was a bright flash of light. So bright it was nearly blinding. It flashed and was gone. Shortly after, an object could be seen falling from where the light had been. Cathina was near unconsciousness as she fell. She saw fleeting glimpses of her wings fluttering above her against the blue, cloudless sky. She fell and fell. The wind rushed past her with a roar that was almost deafening and began to fray the edges of her robe. She crashed to earth in the Kalorian capital city, in the middle of the market. Divine intervention had prevented Cathina and the the street from being damaged, though Cathina was in a severe amount of pain. She lay motionless on the street, with her wings laying flat and spread out on the ground around her, as her brilliant white robes faded to a light blue and her wing faded to a light gray. She muttered only one word before falling completely unconscious. "Laza?" It was the old language of the gods. A language long forgotten by many in Gorgraz, it would only be remembered by close followers of the Pantheon of Light, such as clerics and other holy people. In the current language it meant, "Why?"

A crowd gathered around the fallen Angel, whispering to themselves, so one was dispatched to the Temple to get a Cleric. A woman got a damp clothe and dabbed the Angel's face. It wasn't long before an elder Cleric, a few younger Clerics and a handful of the Temple garud arrived. "Get her to the Temple!" the old Cleric wheezed, "Also, get the Queen and Lord General Helmlock down there was well."
The trip was short to the Temple, the guards gently set Cathina down on a bed in the Temple, the elder Cleric knelt next to her, muttering healing incantations. The Queen and Zhan Helmlock entered the room softly. "Is that a..." the Queen whispered. "Yes," Zhan said "An Angel...but the robes....are blue?" He asked the Cleric. "How astute, my Lord. These are the robes of a Fallen, but not the Evil Fallen. This one is not evil....no...but for some reason our Gods cast her out..." The Cleric explained. The Queen walked near to the bed. "Will she recover?" The Cleric nodded. "Yes, she is asleep now. She sound wake shortly."

Strange thoughts swam through Cathina's waking mind. Very slowly she became aware of herself again. She opened her eyes and saw a ceiling above. She lay this way for a moment, staring at the ceiling, trying to figure out what had happened. A sudden noise drew her attention to the fact she was surrounded by people, and she became frightened. She tried to sit up, but the pain from the fall returned. It burned up her back to her neck and spilled into her head. Pain was forgotten feeling for Cathina. The last time she felt pain was hundreds of years ago. She groaned and layed back down. The pain subsided slowly and her breathing slowed to a normal pace again. "La oth too pom? Tu ja ca?" she asked in her native tongue, meaning "Where am I? Who are you?", as she looked around at the unfamiliar faces. She was almost sure they were the Paldothins, or the Kalorians as they called themselves. From the little she knew of them, she was sure they followed Palador. This brought some comfort to her uneasy mind. She slowly began trying to remove her armor, for the fall had drained her strength and the armor felt very heavy.

The old Cleric muttered to himself then said in Old Kalorian, "Yues en Kalor-kan, newe es frodes." You are in Kalor, We are friends. He stopped Cathina from removing her armor. Continuing to speak in Old Kalorian her said. Lord General Helmlock, please remove her armor, and my Queen Kalana, please come talk with her. I believe a female presence is what we need." Zhan stepped forward awkwardly, "Yes, Cleric." Hw began to unbuckle the straps that connected her armor. Kalana knelt next to Cathina and took one of her hands. "I am Queen Kalana, and you are safe here. You are in the Temple of the Pantheon in Capital City. Just relax for a moment, speak when you are ready."

Th old man spoke to Cathina in Old Kalorian. This put her mind completely at ease. One of the other men began to remove her armor for her. When she had to bend forward to remove the back piece, the pain returned again, only not quite as strong. Soon all the pieces of armor had been removed and layed aside with her sword, leaving Cathina in her light blue robe. "Foo ca," ("Thank you") she said. She began to mutter healing spells to herself and soon the pain had lessened enough to allow her to sit up. She did so slowly, for her full strength had not returned. In this position, she could stretch her wings and make sure they were not injured. Slowly she stretched them out as far as they would go. The muscles where the wing attached to the body were sore, but not painfully so. After stretching a little she said, "Pom too ta Arculaga Cathina, o Palador pa ta Panthega o Tri." ("I am the Archangel Cathina, of Palador and the Pantheon of Light.") She then looked down at her robes and added, "Ko a lest pom sa." ("Or at least I was.") A look of sadness appeared on her face as she said this. She lowed her head.

In the throne room of Zargon the kings blessed mirror flashes white with the intensity of a thousands suns then black as a moonless night it fluctuated back and forth until it settled for a gray color then the mirror returned to normal. The king pondered the events in his head "Well this is odd indeed. What two things could course such a huge fluctuation in the balance of the world?"

"Ah but your robes are blue, not black. If I had to guess you where sent her for a reason," The old man said slowly. The Queen frowned, "I don't understand your languge," she said in Old Kalorian "Could you speak Old Kalorian or Common?" Zhan nodded, "Yes, my knowledge of the Languge of Light is limited."

With a small popping noise, a very weary and bedraggled Tam appeared near the queen. He hid most of his surprise at seeing an angel of the gods he worshipped on a bed, but he was to tired to care to much. He bowed his head briefly towards the angel, Zhan, and the queen. He then addressed the latter of the three, "M'lady, as you have summoned, I have come." Then, as he felt his strength failing him he quickly leaned against the nearest wall in order to remain standing. "I apologize for interrupting you and for my rough appearance, but I felt that it was necessary to teleport directly to you because of the demands time places upon us." After this Tam fell silent, using all of his will to remain standing while waiting for a response.

"Common?" she thought as she looked at the newcomer. She could not understand anything he said to the others in the room but it seemed important. She forced herself back to the task at hand, how she could learn Common. She had never heard of common. She had never spoken to any mortal this much before, and barely knew enough Old Kalorian to understand them. She pondered over this for a moment. She had come to suspect the old man was a cleric, and he understood her and the others in the room. A plan began to form in her mind. She turned to the old man and asked him "Joga ca kek ta Loga o Tri, Fu Paldothin, pa 'Common'?" (Do you speak the Language of Light, Old Kalorian, and Common?) The old man nodded. Cathina motioned for him to come closer. She placed her hands on either side of his head and closed her eyes. She drew on his knowledge of the languages and add some to what he didn't know of the Language of Light. In essence, their minds taught and learned from one another, and very quickly. After a moment or so she opened her eyes and smiled. She lowered her hands and said "Thank you," in perfect Common.

Zhan sword clanking upon his side wrapped an arm around Tam and moved him to a chair, the Old Cleric came barging in a moment later. "What in the Abyss! Magic! I sense Magic!...Oh...Just an Elf...An ELF!" His hands began to crackle with Holy Power. "Whoa, Father Cleric. He is of the Free Elves." Zhan said, his hand held in a placating manner. "We need you to prepare a bed for him, he will need it soon." The Queen knelt in front of Tam, a gesture Zhan fown at. "We need your help Tam, the Elves MUST get to Outlance, our most south eastern fortress."

Tam nodded his head feebly, "As you wish M'lady. If you would be so kind as to help me to that bed that Lord Zhan mentioned, I would be obliged to send a message telling my king to prepare for mobilization." He put his hands to his temples and mumbling in ancient elvish and fiery letters like those before appeared and sailed away, to be returned in the same manner a moment later. Tam then tried to rise, only to fall back because he was too exhausted. He looked at the queen, "Could I be so bold as to ask for some food too?"

Cathina watched the elf with interest. She hadn't seen a elf this close in a long time. She slowly rose from her bed and walked over to the elf with her wings tucked down in their folded position. She studied his face and looked into his eyes. Her look made everyone else suspect she was seeing more than just his eyes and face. She then placed her right hand in the middle of the Tam's chest. "Mai stenth tac ca" (My strength to you) As she spoke this spell both she and Tam seemed to glow. Tam barely glowed at all and Cathina glowed slightly more. Slowly, Cathina's glow lessened and the Tam's glow increased until they glowed equally. Then she lowered her hand and the glow disappeared. She stumbled slightly but remained standing. "I'm sorry I cannot do more for you, but I am weak myself." she said with a smile. Cathina returned to the bed and sat on it's edge.

As Cathina touched Tam he shivered slightly as he felt energy flow into him. It wasn't much by the angel's standards, but to a mortal it was enough energy to fight a two day battle. He stood with renewed vigor and addressed the angel with a bowed head, "Thank you, I am in your debt." Tam then turned to the queen, "This energy doesn't substitute my need for rest and food, but I think I can arrange the coming of the elves before I need it. The grand army of The Erodaen is prepared to teleport to a destination specified by you. Is there anyone that could teleport me to Outlance, where I may begin bringing the army?"

"I could get you there, I just need to rest a little longer. My strength is returning very quickly." Cathina said. She thought to herself "It sounds as though all is not right. What exactly is going on in Kalor? Could this be my reason for being sent here?" Cathina stood again. Angels' recovery rates are very fast. The pain in her back was now completely gone and her wings were no longer sore. She was a little weak, but ready to become active again. She busied herself with inspecting and putting on her armor.

Tam wondered for a moment how the angel could teleport to outlance without having been there before. Then he realized that it was an angel not a mortal he was thinking of. While the angel was putting on her armor, Tam began to strap on his affects that he had been carrying in a bundle until now. First he strapped on his sword belt with his bastard sword and his kukri. After that he slipped his dirk back into his boot and, wistfully glancing at his now unadorned left wrist, slipped his blowgun darts into a pocket. Finally, he slipped the blow gun into the strapps on his back and slung his bow and quiver over his shoulder. By this time Cathina was ready. Tam stood there, waiting for the angel to take control.

Cathina turned to the Queen and Zhan. "Thank you for your help. I see I am needed elsewhere, but I will return here as quickly as I may." She then turned to Tam, who now stood armed for battle. "You asked to be teleported, but I do not know how to do that, but I said I would get you there and get you there I shall." She lifted her massive sword and slid it into it's sheath on her back. The sheath laid across her back in such a way as to make removing and sheathing the sword easy, but so that it would not be in the way of her wings. She then pulled the hood of her robe up over her head and made her way outside, motioning for Tam to follow. Shortly they both stood outside the Temple. The sun light made Cathina feel much better. She could feel even more strength flow through her. She turned to Tam and smiled as she asked, "Have you ever flown before?"

"Well there is a first time for everything. Come here." She grabbed Tam around the waist with one arm and said, "Hold on tight." With that she began to flap her massive wings and slowly they lifted off the ground. They rose higher and higher until the people in the Capital City looked like tiny black specks on the ground, the Cathina leveled out and began to glide in the direction of Outlance. She enjoyed flying. Normally, under these circumstances, an angel would fly to the destination her self and wait for whom ever was to come with her, but she hated that not everyone could fly. Soon she nearly forgot she had a passenger and began to do one of her favorite air maneuvers, the slow barrel roll.

Tam was glad that he had exceptionally strong stomach, because her acrobatics were making even him feel nauseated. He tried to ignore this feeling and enjoy the sensation. This was definitely the weirdest thing he had ever experienced. He looked out at the magnificent view. In three directions he could see nothing but plains. But in the fourth direction he could see the sea and.....there....sure enough, was the smoke covered city of Seawall and beyond was the black mass of the orc invasion fleet. Tam shivered slightly, then noticed a dot appearing on the horizon in front of them. Outlance...

Cathina happened to glace at her passenger, which in it's self startled her. He was begining to look slightly green. "What could cause that," she thought mid roll as she looked up at the sky. "Oh" She stopped spinning and leveled out. "Sorry, I just go to my own little place when I'm flying." She slowly began her desent toward Outlance, which was still just a dot far away. Continued in Outlance. (Sorry if I cut you off from saying anything Tam )
