I completely made this up in classes....lol
To all in this world our fates are the same To all in this world none my escape
The land of shadows where all souls lie
To all in this world we will leave all behind To all in this world we shall all go alone
To the land of shadows Where all stay alone
To all in this world there is no hope To all in this world we shall all go
To the land of shadows where all souls lie
But to all in this world we should not fear For all in this world shall soon be there
In the land of shadows where I have no fear

this next one is like the first but.....
A great attack was struck on our land by an enemy hidden behind a wall of sand
So our soldiers went out to find a land among sand that none should find
The land of legend A land of fire and stone
Our soldiers fought to free this land from the foe hidden behind the sand
In the land of legend Where none should go
our soldiers fought hard and won there way to the wall of sand and found what lay beyond the sand
In the land of legend where all is understood
None lay beyond the sand, this all the soldiers could see and now our soldiers still stay until the day they are set free
In the land of legend The land that none leave
The soldiers have been gone for so long now, but to them all is still for they still remember why they are there
In the land of legend Where time stands still
If we could all remember why we are here all would be reviled, but the fires burn and rocks stand still
In the land of legend A land of fire and stone
But we should not forget our soldiers and why they fight
In the land of legend Where blood runs cold
For the scars of the attack still remain and will for years to come
In all the world None stand still
This can be related to 9/11 the attack on us. Then our soldiers that are in a land that to us is all but legend they are still fighting and still dieing in a land of fire and stone...
In all the world All shall go forth
Until the world itself Becomes fire and stone

(Finlay had some time to post the rest of them)
The heart knows to beat, the lungs know to inflate, the stomach knows to digest, but the mind knows no specific duty. It thinks, it wonders, it assumes, it ponders, it contemplates, it theorizes, it wishes, it hypothesizes, it hopes, it dreams, it aches, and slumbers, but above all else it learns. They say our thoughts, our ability to think puts us above other animals, but put a human in a drastic situation where thinking is useless the person proves to us all that we are animals for he will revert to primal instincts. Never assume we are not animals for one only needs to look at a mirror to visit a zoo.

this one I thought of calling the Silent Sentry
O silent sentry of silver and gold
Why do you watch all who come and who go
Why do you stand so solemnly on thy earthly stone?
O silent sentry of silver and gold
How many have passed under your gaze?
How many have left during your reign
O silent sentry of silver and gold
Why do you stand so bold? Upon your earthly throne
O silent sentry of silver and gold

this one would be called rain
It drowns my fears and washes away my sorrows
It cleanses my dreams and fills my hope
It darkens the day and fills the sky
It comes when it wants and cannot be stoped
It leaves behind a calm silence and a sense of peace in the world
The rain washes all away and cleans the slates of past days
It washes the body and cleanses the soul
It drowns the mind and fills the senses
It may go away, but it will come again another day.

Freedom isn't free for you or me this all can see because the price of our freedom is that our soldiers must give there freedom so that we can maintain ours, but how do the soldiers get free? None have seen a soldier truly free until the day that they die... for none are truly free this all can see for we cannot fly to see our father in heaven who is the only one that is truly free.
(if this offends anyone I am sorry)

this one seems kinda depressing
It comes at night and in the fog
Its drawn to death and sees it all
It quaffs at misery and loves your pain
It eats the dead and craves the living
It flys on wings above your head
It rakes the skins with taloned claws
It is patient, it has time
It will wait, until the time
When your old and death is nigh

these next two I tried to use as many hot and cold words as possible.
This one is of hot
The hepatic hot day heated my body, boiled my blood and set my emotions upon a fire and melted them into my arid soul where they simmered in the blazing heat of my eternal furry.
this one is of cold
The bitterly cold wind chilled my body and froze my soul into a frozen icy tomb from wich none may escape the dark frozen hollows of the endless abyss

the worst thing I can find is a couple of very minor typos. other than that, they seem to be as good as ones that I've seen published. Not that I'm any kind of expert...

The Trend By Samuel H. Clay
Evil shouted loud As it moved like a cloud O’er the land To strike again
We were strong and proud As we rode against that Evil Shroud When we charged forward To greet them with a sword
We crashed upon them like a wave, Like the valiant and the brave We fought on and on Until the coming of the dawn
We soon began to find We could not break their line Nothing could save us from their hate We had to face our fate
But, our luck began to change On that bloody, gory range A cry went up, “For the Light!” Filling us with strength for the fight
The tides began to turn And revenge was yearned We beat them back into Hell When our final stroke fell
We won the War As we had before Many times since Evil’s first offence
And thus goes the trend Attack and retreat Defend and defeat But to what end? Evil will come again And thus is the never-ending trend
