The First Demon war started as an isolated incident involving a Cereashian dig team. They unearthed the gateway that sealed Balthazan away. The seal was weak and gave way shortly after being found. The Cereash, being a proud race, attempted to fight the dark army back on their own. At first, they did quite well, nearly forcing the demon army back to the gateway, but the momentum of the war slowed until it reached a stalemate. For nearly a year, battle lines were held against constant attack. Finally, the lines broke forcing the Cereashian forces back. Messengers were immediately sent to all the major powers, but at the time, none were powerful and only one responded to the call. The humans, urged by their god Palador and their hatred for demons, came to the aid of the army of the White Sash. With the moral regained and new fresh troops, a new offensive began, this one was ultimately successful in driving the demon army from Gorgraz. The gateway was resealed and, over time, forgotten.
The Second Demon War was barely a war at all. It consisted of barely three battles. It came swiftly and ended abruptly. No one know how, but Balthazan reappeared in the Shifting Sands of eastern Gorgraz. His renewed Horde attacked several villages that bordered the vast desert. The Cereash caught wind of the attacks and mobilized their army. Once again, being a proud race, they did not send out messengers to ask for aid, though the mistake had almost cost them everything. Two major battles were fought on the dunes of the desert. The commanders hatched a scheme. Half the army struck out west, toward the mountains of central Gorgraz and prepared to ambush the demon army in a narrow pass. The other half set out to lure the enemy into the ambush. It was a long shot, but they were running out of options, they had lost nearly two thirds their number already. Days passed. Weeks. In total a month and a half had passed before the remaining soldiers of the White Sash set out to find their comrades. It took nearly a weak to find them. Within the vast Circle of Sentinels, the entire half of the army lay dead. But so did the demon army. The sand within the circle had not be disturbed. The foot prints of the battle could still be seen. The division had been fighting a running battle. No one knows what exactly happened within that circle of stones, but now the Cereash use it as their burial ground. The sand within the great ring is made up of bone powder. The ending of this was left the Cereashian nation in tatters. Every man that could wield a weapon had been sent to serve. Only a sixth of them returned. They drew in all their outlying villagers into Cornar, their capital, abandoning the outside world until they were strong enough to protect themselves. They lived hidden from the world until they were lost in time, forgotten by the other peoples of Gorgraz.
